PERFECTION FROM THE HAWK SEALS PLAYOFF PLACE ON FIRST DAY

Barry Hawkins had a Friday to remember in Leicester, winning all four of his BetVictor Championship League Snooker Invitational matchups to qualify for Saturday evening’s Group 5 play-offs.

The Hawk, who was beaten in Thursday evening’s play-offs by eventual Group 4 winner Neil Robertson, lined up against Joe Perry, Ricky Walden, Fan Zhengyi and Dave Gilbert, beating all four men to take 4 points into Saturday.

John Higgins has been ever-present across the week and, having sealed a 980^th career century throughout the day, will start in second place with three matches to play.

Zhengyi and Kyren Wilson both have two wins to their name, with the former recording a 3-0 win over the Warrior to kick-start his campaign.

Ricky Walden rescued a point in the final match of the evening, defeating Joe Perry to rise off the foot of the table with a first win from three.
