BINGHAM BOOKS PLAYOFF SPOT ON DAY 1 OF WINNERS' GROUP

Stuart Bingham won four matches from four on the opening day of Winners’ Group at the 2022 BetVictor Championship League Snooker Invitational, Morningside Arena, Leicester live on FreeSports in the UK and networks worldwide.

Winners’ Group got underway with John Higgins, Zhao Xintong, Yan Bingtao, Graeme Dott, Scott Donaldson, and Wenbo Liang all joining Bingham in the battle for the title and a spot in the 2022 Cazoo Champion of Champions.

Bingham got off to the ideal start overcoming Yan 3-2 before a rallying 3-0 over Zhao with breaks of 73 and 58 along the way. The former world champion continued that momentum in the evening session with two final frame decider wins over Higgins and Dott to secure his passage to the tournament’s semi-finals.

Higgins was the last player to join Winners’ Group and got the better of compatriot Dott in the first match from 2-0 down before beating Zhao 3-1 and Donaldson 3-2 to have three wins from four so far. Dott, Yan, Zhao, Wenbo, and Donaldson all have picked up at least one win so far.

It was a heavy scoring start to Winners’ Group with three breaks of 140+: Yan against Wenbo (142), Zhao against Yan (143). and Bingham against Dott (141).
